Because of the way the escrow mechanism works on Fokawa, you are not always allowed to cancel a trade. Whether or not you can cancel a trade depends on the state of the escrow, and whether you are the buyer or seller.

If you are the buyer, you can cancel at any time. If there is crypto in escrow, it will be returned to the seller after you cancel.

If you are the seller, you can only cancel a trade if the payment window timer has expired and the buyer has not marked the trade as paid. If the buyer clicks their “Mark as paid” button, the trade can only be cancelled by the buyer, or by an arbitrator if the trade enters a payment dispute.
